Straightforward answers about how we work, who we work with, and what to expect from an engagement with Main Street Advisory.
What industries do you specialize in?
We work across industries including trades, field services, construction, manufacturing, professional services, retail, and hospitality. The specific industry matters less than the stage: we focus on owner-operated businesses in the $3M to $10M revenue range where complexity has outgrown the existing structure.
How does your pricing work?
We operate on value-based, fixed-fee pricing rather than hourly billing. You know the investment upfront, and we are incentivized to deliver results efficiently. Engagement types include project-based flat fees, focused assessments, and ongoing quarterly retainers. Pricing is discussed during an initial conversation once we understand the scope.
Do you work with startups?
Generally, no. Our work is designed for established businesses that have already achieved meaningful revenue and are experiencing the growing pains of complexity. If your business is pre-revenue or under $1M in annual revenue, we are likely not the right fit at this stage.
How long is a typical engagement?
It depends on the scope. A focused assessment typically takes 2 to 4 weeks. A full operational engagement from audit through implementation usually runs 3 to 6 months. Ongoing retainer relationships can continue indefinitely depending on the owner's needs. We will always be clear about expected timelines before any engagement begins.
What makes you different from other consultants?
We stay involved through implementation to make sure changes actually hold. We work on fixed fees rather than hourly, which means we have every incentive to be efficient and effective. And we are direct: if we do not think we can help, we will tell you in the first conversation.
